瓊斯盃開打前夕，突然從中華藍換去中華白，周伯勳一開始無法接受，甚至不想報到，「幸好後來我懂那是閻哥（閻家驊）用心良苦，加上我在白隊可以打久一點，如今我反而感激閻哥給我機會！」周伯勳說。中華白昨雖以66比88慘遭伊朗修理，面對高大長人陣，打了33分鐘的周伯勳，仍有13分、5籃板的表現。也不能怪他胡思亂想，因為過去兩年，他總跟國手資格（2013東亞資格賽、2014亞洲盃）擦身而過。

「當聽到自己要到白隊，頓時感覺從天堂掉到人間，從一軍降到二軍，心理難免難過，」周伯勳說，「結果當時我被閻哥罵很慘，他說我真的很奇怪，明明到白隊可以上場打球，卻想留藍隊坐板凳。」如今重新調適好心情，周伯勳表示，現在只想好好打每場球了，畢竟今年瓊斯盃強隊如林，是吸收國際賽經驗的大好機會，「我不會再亂想，專注在場上就好。」中華白總教練許智超認為，周伯勳機動性與敏捷性強，只要增強外線投射能力，有機會成為台版「金周成（南韓傳奇前鋒）」，沒想到周伯勳竟回應，「我比他帥多了！」(中國時報)
