9月10日起開展的第13屆法國里昂雙年展，以「現代」（moderne）為題開啟展覽三部曲，台灣藝術家袁廣鳴的《能量的風景》影像，獲選為本屆里昂雙年展主視覺，舉凡海報、宣傳文宣等，都可見到這幅以南台灣墾丁沙灘、遠方是核電廠的影像作品。這也是此一名列世界前10大重要的國際雙年展中，首次以台灣藝術家的作品為主視覺。

今年的里昂雙年展由英籍策展Ralph Rugoff擔綱，策畫「現代生活」作主題的國際展區，來自世界28個國家、60位藝術家參展。透過來自世界各地的藝術家，以多元形式反思現代生活與相關議題。台灣今年有袁廣鳴、賴志盛兩位藝術家獲選參加。袁廣鳴是台灣多媒體藝術創作先驅之一，擅長影像、錄像裝置展現創作理念，創作多取材於日常生活，近年關注家庭記憶，也回應台灣歷史、反核、學運等社會議題。袁廣鳴將場景、抗爭場合或核能禁區收錄在影像中，劇場式的鋪陳形式，挑戰觀者的聲感經驗。《能量的風景》當中，五顏六色的大陽傘林立，明媚的陽光灑在海面，海灘上卻空無一人，歡樂的海灘風景背後，卻是核能廠聳立，視覺語言凸顯的荒謬，讓雙年展選用這張作品，作為本屆展覽主視覺。賴志盛的作品偏向觀念空間性的創作實踐，圍繞著時間、空間與身體感的創作思維，展出「邊境」系列在不同的空間場域創作，觀者感受到因應各種場所機制、建築空間條件、生產工法及參與強度等的差異，凸顯不確定的現實和當下狀態。(中國時報)，
